Nineteenth-century Canadian Photographically Illustrated Books began as a doctoral research project at Queen's University in Kingston and Western University in London, Canada. It reproduces images of photographs found in books and periodicals held in public collections in Canada, including: 

Library and Archives Canada, Library of Parliament, Toronto Reference Library, University of Toronto Libraries, Queen’s University Library, Western University Library, Archives of Ontario, Archive of Modern Conflict (Toronto), Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (Montreal and Quebec City), Canadian Centre for Architecture, Morrin Centre Library, McCord Museum, Musée de l’Amérique francophone, Musée national des Beaux-Arts du Québec, Université Laval, Université de Montréal, the University of British Columbia, Victoria University and the National Gallery of Canada.

Nineteenth-century Canadian Photographically Illustrated Books aims to support and facilitate research, learning, teaching and engagement with those collections, for the widest possible audience.
